New Moon
Today my mom told me that in the beginning of the new moon people in India go out to see it, and welcome it. I asked my mom why they do this, and after thinking for a while she said she didn't know exactly why. Then I started laughing and asked her how could she believe something she knew nothing about. She said it was traditional, and that all Punjabi's did this so she did to. Then she said told me she would ask her mother, and then tell me. However she knew that if it rose up it was considered good luck, and is it arrived any other way it was unlucky. The new moon this month is a good one.

My mom always tells me about beliefs that she remembered when she was little but she can never explain why. I think that each belief people share has a true meaning. In my culture, the New Moon is always presented as good luck.
