Don't Panic

I really enjoy listening to Coldplay, and then I came across this song called Don't Panic. A really short, simple but earnest song. This is my interpretation of the song, if you disagree let me know. I think this song talks about global warming, and the end of the world. If you watch the video you'll see factories, and cars releasing pollution. You'll also see natural disasters, and the earth exploding. (The first time you watch the video it kinda seems weird.)

Change in America

BARACK OBAMA IS THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

This year America has shown how much they have changed and progressed. For the first time a black man, and a women ran for the democratic nominee for the election of the next president of the United States of America. When Barack Obama was elected as the democratic nominee, and then as President, I saw how racism, had changed. The newer generations are less racist! ( Sadly some people still are though!) But to see how far we've come from black slaves, to a black President is shocking! Shocking in a good way! I'm so happy to see Obama as President. Another change this election year was that a women ran!!!! Women who were always thought as less of men. Women now stand shoulder to shoulder with men! Hilary Clinton showed the world that women are no less then men!!

An Inconvenient Truth

Some people do not believe that a world wide crisis known as global warming is occurring everyday of our life. Global warming is the temperature increase of the earths overall temperature. The earth is slowly getting warmer, and warmer. It is happening slowly, but has started to effect the earth. You must have noticed the change of the weather course. In the month of November we did not have as much rain as previous years. The ocean levels are decreasing, and the ice glaciers are melting. And also places are getting natural disaster like hurricanes, where people once said that it was impossible. This crisis is not only harming us but also the creatures around us. The amount of greenhouse gases has increased. Greenhouse gases are gases like CO2. CO2 is the number one cause of the increase of the earths temperature. CO2 is released when we burn trees, and also some factories, and fossil fuels. Basically it's pollution people release into the world. People need to start taking steps to help save our earth, so future generations can live, and breath easier. GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT A THEORY, IT IS THE TRUTH!!

** For people who do not believe global warming is happening I encourage them to watch the movie An Inconvenient Truth. A documentary that explains a lot about global warming!

House is vitriolic

The word that describes House the best is vitriolic. He's so bitter, and sarcastic. The first time I heard vitriolic I thought of House! (I know its random. But the best way for me to learn new vocabulary is to link it to someone, or something!) And back to House, some people don't really like the show. But I find it entertaining. If I were to meet a person like House, I would probably tell him to shut up! People think that his sarcasm is rude, I think that sometimes it is rude, but sometimes it's funny! It's funny when he's sarcastic with his interns! His sarcasm is sometimes bitter. That's why I describe him as vitriolic. (Maybe he should just shut up sometimes!)

Getting two thoughts at once

Have you stopped yourself in a sentence because you were about to mis say a word, or say something else in place of a word? Then have you gone ahh or something and then said the word you just stopped yourself from saying. I just find it really funny, because you end up saying what you  trying not to say. Its like instinct or something. Or maybe you say what you were trying not to say because it could cause problems, like an argument. And I think that everyone has done this at least once. It's as if you have two thoughts, and your so excited or scared to say them that you mix them up. An it ends up getting you all mixed up. I don't know why, but I just find it interesting, and kinda funny.

The Month of December

I always anticipate the month of December. I love winter break, but I hate finals!! I am so glad that finals are before winter break. It allows me to relax, and enjoy the break. Having finals before break sort of relaxes me because I fell that right now I have everything fresh in my brain, I feel as if I will do good. If we had finals after break, man I would study so much that my brain would burst. I will probably know the materials but my confidence level would be so low. I can't wait to get rid of finals, and enjoy winter break. Unless all my teachers give me a lot of homework. Hopefully not much, or hopefully not any! :)

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I don't know how people decide on their future careers. Is it that something in their life happens, or is it that people just except you to be a particular person and thats what you end up becoming. I'm glad that my parents don't pressure me to a particular course, they have left the decision on me. As long as I have a good career, they don't mind if I'm a lawyer, or a doctor, or whatever. I was just thinking what I would actually enjoy doing. A career that I won't get bored of throughout my whole life. Maybe its not the right time to think of a career, maybe I should just finish Sophomore year. So I'll think later about my future career.

To Kill a Mockingbird

Many people did not like the first part of  To Kill a Mockingbird, but they love part two. I don't get it why was it boring or what. I am enjoying the whole book. I just finished reading the judges verdict, and It makes so mad. I think that Tom Robinson is actually telling the truth. That just shows how raciest people were back then. Hopefully Atticus does something to bring Tom justice. I wonder if the author Harper Lee was raciest back in her time also. 

You know what I wish I wish that I could meet some authors. I would ask them what motivated them to write the story they wrote, only if they wrote a fiction story. I wonder if it was their childhood plays a part in their stories. I want to know how they come up with the interesting adventures in their stories.

Sleep

Without a good day's sleep, I don't want do anything but sleep!! This weekend was for me to catch up on sleep, but no I had to stay up late to watch T.V. Sometimes I wish that my parents gave me a bedtime. I end up staying up until one o'clock, then not being able to wake up in the morning until twelve. Ugggg!!!! Sometimes I do my homework as I watch but usually I am so into my show, that I don't do it. Maybe we just shouldn't get any homework for the weekend. :) 

The Internet is a Distraction

When I didn't have my laptop, I was actually able to finish my homework on time. Now that I have it, I am constantly on the internet. I go on for a small purpose, but it leads to a long search. I just do random stuff, which leads to me wasting a lot of time. Its because the internet leads you from one thing to another. For example if your looking up something as simple as a Golden Retriever. You'll end up finding information of where to adopt one, and all the different types, and everything. Its quite interesting but while your looking for one anwser, you'll find 5 more questions which leads you to search more. So the internet leads you to a long, interesting journey.

Weather

Weather causes big problems in a persons daily life. Whether its playing a sport, or just going out for a walk. If it's hot you burn, and if it rains you get soaked. Sometimes its okay. You can actually have a lot of fun in the rain, but when you're playing a sport like soccer you get tired of it. It rains and gets very muddy! In the sun you tan more than you need to. When I'm walking hom sometimes I get soaked, again it sucks. But when I'm walking home, and its sunny, I get tired easily. So why can't there be perfect weather! 

Life's Moments

A lot of moments take place in a persons life time. Some bad, and others good. Life is full of happiness, and sadness. People always have those moments that they wish they could go back and change. I have some moments which I want to go back and change, and there are some moments I wish I could go back to live again.  But that doesn't happen. And I agree with Phoung that even if I could go back and change events in my life, I don't think I would. I would be a completely different person. 

Missing Tennis

Tennis season went by so quickly. Sometimes I still think we have practice after school. I miss going to the locker room and complaining about previous matches. Something exciting always happened at our matches. From Rachel having her Ice Cream snatched by a little boy to meeting up with Mr. Hewitston. We laughed, and had fun most of the time. In the beginning I used to think "Man I have so much homework, I wish I could go home." And now wish Tennis hadn't ended. Well at least I can still play with my friends for fun. I wish I could play at the Tennis court!! (Shown to the right)

Diwali "Festival of lights"

Diwali, a religious holiday for both Sikhs, and Hindu's, was on Wednesday October 29th. For Hindu's this festival is about Lord Rams return from exile. For Sikhs Diwali is the day when Guru Hargobind freed himself, and 52 kings held prisoners to Emperor Jahingir. Emperor Jahingir wanted to rule over all of India. He had also agreed to free the Guru, after the Kings pleaded the Guru be freed. But Guru Hargobind said that he wouldn't leave without the 52 Kings, and he didn't. He freed them along with himself. Sikhs celebrated the release of their Guru (teacher). Every year my family, and I celebrate Diwali.

Thinking about what to write about

Each persons day is different than another persons. A lot happens in one day, yet I sit here thinking about what to blog about. When I do get an idea I think if it's even worth blogging about. The ideas I get do with my life, so I ask my self will people even care. Or will they think I'm conceited, that I'm writing about my life. I think blogging ideas come when they come.
