Tennis

Tennis season this year is going so well. I play doubles, and my partner Hannah is extremely nice, and good player. This is our first year playing together, and we're a pretty good team. I have a lot of areas where I need help, like my backhands but I'm working on them. My backhands have improved quiet a bit! Tennis is a great hand eye coordination game. People sometimes don't play because they hear that Tennis is a hand eye coordination game. Even if you think you don't have good hand eye coordination Tennis will help you improve. It's really fun to play, but I heard it's not that exciting to watch, I guess it's only exciting to people who have played, because I love watching Tennis. I LOVE TENNIS!!!!

Saturday

Saturday was an awful, disappointing day! I felt as if people were not committed to Leadership. This is how it started on Friday, September 26th, me, and the other officers had told everyone that there would be a work day at school starting at 9:00. In the work day we were supposed to begin working on our Homecoming things like our skit, float, and crash poster. Only five sophomores showed up. The people in charge of the skit, and crash poster did not show up! We five sophomores waited about an hour for more sophomores to show up so we could try to get something done, but no one showed up. There was one thing we did accomplish was a float design. It is a work in progress but we did do something. Oh and another thing was powder puff went pretty okay even though we were short a few girls. But that's something off my mind! Hopefully we can get more people next time to help, I going to make sure that we address this problem on Monday.

What happened to Ismene??

I just finished Antigone, and I'm confused. I understand the end of Antigone, Haemon, Eurydice, and Creon but I do not know what happened to Ismene. Her last line was " Poor Haemon! How your father disgraces your name!"And then she is taken inside, with her sister Antigone. Antigone is later taken out, but is Ismene still stuck in the room where she was take?? Overall Antigone was quite an interesting story. The ending was sad but not as sad as Oedipus! These types of stories are so depressing, but I think that Oedipus, and Antigone were more interesting then I though they'd be. I was really disappointed in the beginning when Mr. Thompson said we would be reading plays, but these plays made me want to finish the story.

Creon

"Yet, it’s impossible to understand the soul, the mind the wisdom of any man before he’s tested by the great power and laws. Indicates the gods. And I feel this: that a man is of no use to his city if he’s to govern it by wisdom though by a tongue silenced by some fear. And if a man places anything above his city in friendship, that man I think is worthy of disdain. Always did, always will." This is a quote made by Creon. This told me that Creon seems to be a strict person of law. He is also is a person of action, and powerful words. He thinks of his city Thebes before anything. I don't think that Creon would let anyone go against his city. These qualities can sometimes be good in a king and sometimes not. Creon can go by these rules and be a good leader by protecting Thebes, or a bad one by making laws people are against.

Leadership

I always think that students, (and sometimes even teacher's) are not fully informed about events Leadership is putting on like a school dance. I remember telling my history teacher about the Welcome Back Dance Live In Color, after it occurred, and he said "What? There was a dance?" I had also asked people if they were coming and they had no clue there was even going to be a dance. I ended up telling about 50 different people that there was going to be dance, and where they could buy tickets. I think that blogging would be a good way to keep people informed. So I think I'll try to post a little bit about about leadership every Friday. I hope to keep everyone informed!

Why Blog

Matt S. asked a good question, I think everyone was thinking about. His question was why do people blog? I think people blog for multiple reasons. To me the most important reason is that blogging helps people who are shy, to open up. People who are shy are more likely to state their opinion in a blog. This may help those people who are shy share their opinions in with society. Blogging is also easier for people who are not shy, but think their opinion is stupid or not worth mentioning. Those people can type up their opinion about a issue and not worry about the thoughts of anyone. If someone has something to say they can. And people are most likely not going to call someones opinion stupid. And no one is going to say that the persons opinion was not worth mentioning because everyone's opinion matters. I also think that blogging let's people have an open discussion with multiple people.

My First Blog

Hey everyone my name's Dalvinder! I bet mostly everyone is asleep right know, but I am writing this blog. Everyone started their blog on the day Mr. Thompson told us, or the day after. Me on the other hand is a Procrastinator! I am just way to busy on weekday's and the only time I have to catch up is on Sunday's! Before school started I told myself that I would not procrastinate. Well, look at my great start. The only plus sign to being late is that I have more things to talk about. I have a whole week of stories! But since Mr. Thompson my English teacher told us to write about ourselves that's what I'll do. Well you already know two facts about me that is I am a big time procrastinator, and my English teacher is Mr. Thompson. Some other facts about me are that I am a Sophomore at Gunderson High School. I am also on Gunderson Girl Tennis Team, which is off to a better start then last year, our team was pretty bad last year! Well that's some facts about me, I write more later!
